  • Dr Marcus Bishop

    Having trained in the UK and NZ, Dr Marcus Bishop created a vision for Te Atatu Health after working as a General Practitioner in West Auckland for 6 years. Marcus’ concept for a “different” type of GP clinic aligns with his proactive approach to healthcare and technology.

    “The key role of a Health Centre in our view is not only to diagnose and treat disease, but also to educate and introduce methods for change. We see immersion in the community as a great way to connect people with lasting support, and actually change the landscape of health in the local area”.

  • Dr Matthew Woollett

    Director, MBChB, BSc(Neurosci), PGDip Palliative Medicine

    Dr. Matthew Woollett lives locally on Herald Island with his wife and their three children. He spent many years working at Whangarei Hospital, and more recently practiced at Health New Lynn (with Dr Marcus), Wellsford’s Coast to Coast Health Care and Kaipara Medical Centre. Dr Woollett brings a vast range of experience and a patient centered approach to family medicine.

    “I am easy to sit down and yarn to, and pride myself on having a friendly and relaxed style. Instead of being spoken ‘to’, you are the most important part of the equation in my consultations. I’m excited to be bringing the best parts of my experience to the Te Atatu Health team as we continue to grow and develop this clinic into a patient and community centered health hub.”

  • Dr Rachel Mattock

    Director, MBChB, FRNZCGP

    General Practice | Women’s Health | Preventative Medicine and chronic care.

    Dr. Rachel Mattock originally trained as a nurse, before becoming a doctor. She has experience providing care across the spectrum of health.

    Rachel enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a special interest in women’s health.

    Rachel is local to Te Atatu South, and enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and labradoodle in the outdoors. She is a keen runner and mountain biker, and like most doctors has an appreciation for good coffee.

  • Dr Chris Rahardja

    MBChB, PGDipTravMed

    Travel Medicine | General Medicine

    Dr Chris Rahardja was born and raised in Auckland, where he also completed his medical studies at the University of Auckland.

    More recently has been working in general practice in Christchurch and Wellington, before returning home to Auckland to join the Te Atatu Health Team.

    He enjoys the wide variety of general practice and has also completed his postgraduate certificate in travel medicine.

    Outside of work, Chris enjoys travelling, playing a wide range of sports, getting outdoors and photography.

    In his younger days, he represented New Zealand in Karate, but has since retired from competitive sport.

  • Dr Nicola Roberts

    MBChB, FRANZGP, BSc, PGDip Paeds

    Dr Nicola Roberts completed her medical degree and specialist GP training in Auckland. She has a Postgraduate Diploma of Paediatrics from the University of Auckland and loves working with children and young people.

    She also has an interest in women’s health and plans to undertake further training in breastfeeding medicine in the future.

    Nicola particularly values the collaborative approach that General Practice lends itself to and enjoys working alongside patients to manage their health concerns.

    When Nicola isn’t at work she’s Mum to two children and in any spare time she’ll be knitting or sewing.

  • Dr Sejal Shah

    Dr Sejal Shah is an experienced GP who lives on the North Shore with her husband and two young children. She enjoys most aspects of general practice and holds diplomas in Sexual & Reproductive Health and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

  • Sarah Mildon

    Nurse Practitioner

    Accepting new patients

    Sarah Mildon is Te Atatu Health’s NP. She’s had almost a decade of experience in a variety of GP clinics, and now practices as a Nurse Practitioner. This means she can diagnose and manage patients independently, with support from our medical team as needed. She provides an excellent level of care to our patients.

    “I believe in making sure patients feel they’ve been listened to, have had everything well explained and had all their questions answered. This is so important because we often see people when they’re at their most stressed and vulnerable. If it’s outside our scope, we’ll always refer to a doctor. So you actually get a really high standard of care because you end up getting multiple viewpoints.”

    Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, their daughter and labradoodle.

  • Dr Stephanie Sequeira

    MBChB, PGDipO&G

    General Practice | Women’s Health

    Dr Stephanie Sequeira started her journey in healthcare as a nurse, before becoming a doctor. She previously worked as a registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Middlemore hospital prior to pursuing her role as a GP. Stephanie is extremely passionate in providing quality collaborative healthcare, with a special interest in women’s health. She holds a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and plans to undertake further training in family planning and sexual health.

    When Stephanie is not at work, she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her family and friends either outdoors or over a nice glass of wine.

  • Kate Theunissen

    Nurse Prescriber. Nurse Lead

    Kate is an experienced registered nurse with a background in primary care and emergency nursing. She is also a registered nurse prescriber, which means she can diagnose and prescribe treatments for common and chronic conditions.

    “I believe that having access to good primary care is fundamental to our health and wellbeing, and I enjoy working collaboratively with patients and their families to provide this service”.

    Kate lives locally in Te Atatu Peninsula, so you may see her out walking her dog, going for a run, or dining at the local bistro. When she is not working, Kate enjoys spending time with her family, and exploring various trails and hikes around New Zealand.

  • Abbey Rose Laurence

    Nurse

    Born in Taranaki, Abbey completed a large part of her schooling in Te Atatu Peninsula and is delighted to see the development of this community. A registered nurse since 2014, Abbey previously worked at Middlemore Hospital with both children and adults. Moving to a busy GP clinic within the Auckland area, she gained experience providing holistic care for a wide range of patients.

  • Joy Webb

    Nurse

    Born and bred in Auckland, where I graduated from nursing. I have been a nurse for 30 years, 28 years as practice nurse.

    I believe in making sure my patients feel cared for and listened to. I am a firm believer in providing excellent quality of care.

    Outside of work I enjoy training for triathlons, being in the garden, spending time with family and being involved in my church.

  • Irene Wieringa

    Nurse

    Hailing from South Canterbury, Irene did her nursing training at Timaru hospital before moving to Auckland to pursue theological studies. She spent a memorable 10 years working in Peru in health initiatives and church ministry largely with youth. Irene returned to New Zealand in 2002 and is now married with 2 teenage sons.

    Working in Peru has given Irene a love for the Latin American culture and people, and the ability to speak fluent Spanish, which she loves getting to use.

    Practice nursing especially appeals to Irene because of the opportunities it provides to promote preventative health care and develop ongoing relationships with patients while providing the best care for them.

    Outside of work Irene’s interests include church, gardening, reading, baking and swimming.

  • Nikki Trespeces

    Healthcare Assistant

    Nikki is a healthcare assistant with more than six years experience in both hospitals and primary care. She previously worked as a registered nurse in The Philippines before moving to Auckland in 2014 for greener pastures.

    Being an immigrant gives her a unique perspective on the quality of healthcare here in New Zealand. She enjoys being able to provide compassionate, quality care to patients.

    When not at work, she likes to spend time with her family and friends. She loves to go hiking and explore New Zealand's natural splendour.

    Nikki can be booked for blood pressure checks, diabetic health checks, ECGs and may at times contact you on behalf or the nursing or medical team.

  • Lorraine Cardinali

    Practice Manager

    Born in England, Lorraine and her family moved to New Zealand in November 2017.

    With a background in private health care, she has worked in various health administration roles including respiratory, haematology and cosmetic medicine. Lorraine enjoys helping to make the journey as stress free as possible for those that must access medical care.

  • Victoria Woollett

    Tori has spent the last 10 years working as a healthcare professional in hospital and primary care settings. She is passionate about providing the highest level of healthcare and so is pleased that in her new role at Te Atatu Health she gets to support our team to do exactly that.

    Tori is a mum to three young children and enjoys cooking, reading and being active outside in the sunshine.

  • Karleen Williams

    Receptionist

    Karleen joins Te Atatu Health, with a background working in the education system for both a local school and the Ministry of Education.

    Her effervescent nature, coupled with a strong sense of initiative and organisation make her an asset to the front line at Te Atatu Health. She is caring and compassionate.

  • Talia Cameron

    Receptionist

    Talia has spent the last 18 years working in the retail industry and more recently as a store manager. Moving into frontline healthcare is a new and challenging role. She has a genuine passion for people and is excited to be able to work somewhere that helps to make a real difference in the community.

    Talia has a background in performing arts, and when she is not working loves spending time with her two children and keeping fit.

    “As a receptionist you are the first point of call for all patients, so creating a warm, friendly and welcoming environment is the most important part of my role.”

  • Jeremya Opazo-Gomez

    Jeremya has a strong background in customer service; before joining Te Atatu Health she was an international flight attendant.

    Jeremya has enjoyed the fast paced challenge of working in frontline healthcare and is passionate about providing a great patient experience.

    When not at work Jeremya enjoys spending time with her family & friends.

  • Aaliyah Brown-Young

    Receptionist

    Aaliyah grew up on Te Atatu Peninsula and joins our reception team. She is bubbly and approachable, and enjoys helping all of our patients. When she’s not at work, she’s busy studying for a degree in psychology. She also enjoys socialising with her friends, surfing, and snowboarding.

  • Jamee Bowdler

    Receptionist

    Jamee has spent her life in west Auckland, and loves being a part of the community. She is a welcoming, friendly personality who has found herself in customer service-based roles over the years, and now joins Te Atatu Health as a receptionist.

    While she holds down family life, her spare time is also spent often painting, spending time with her family and friends, or out enjoying a sunny day and coffee.
